Whether you are severely oily or just live in a hotter climate, wearing foundation in the summer can be a very sticky (or should I say: a slippery /scary) nightmare for a lot of people.
You put the foundation on in the morning, you even use a primer, and it looks good for a few minutes, UNTIL … you’ve walked to the car and checked yourself in your rearview. YIKES! Now its caking up under your eyes and in a few hours will have completely separated on your skin!
I know the struggle.
Especially if you have acne scaring or discoloration , you want your foundation to STAY.
Here are a few Foundation options that I have found have more staying power for the hotter summer months:
Normal to Dry or Aging Skins
Hourglass Hyaluronic Acid Skin Tint
Great medium coverage foundation, feels like a gel, and with Hyaluronic acid in it, it feeds the skin the moisture it needs. Why I like it for summer: It will cover and give a good glow to duller skins and because of the gel like nature, its sticks and stays even through a sweaty workout or when poolside.
Runner up: Kosas Tinted Face Oil
For Normal to Oily Skins
An oil free foundation with medium to build-able coverage. Why I like it for summer : Its oil free and yet not overly mattifying. The formula is so nice and smooth going on, and not heavy at all. It does a good job not “breaking down” in the heat.
Runner up: Chanel Ulta Le Teint Velvet
For Clear & Combo Skin
A sheer and tinted serum based foundation. It has a light amount of coverage if you just want to even out your skin tone but not cover freckles etc. Why I like it for summer: Its super lightweight on, and gives you a nice glow . It’ll wear with your skin oils throughout the day without separating.
Runner up: Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer
For Acneic / Hyperpigmented Skin
15 hour Longwear – Infused with Hyaluronic Acid, and has buildable coverage. Why I like it for summer: Has long wear capacity, is hydrating but oil free, has a comfortable, not so heavy feel, with a good amount of coverage. You can sheer it out to your liking with a damp beauty blender.
